Addressing the large gathering, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren criticized the central government, accusing it of deceiving the people of the state through the union budget.

He claimed that some people with a feudal mindset did not want the indigenous people of Jharkhand to stand on their own feet. Despite contributing significantly to the national treasury through mineral resources, Jharkhand remains one of the most backward states, he said. Soren emphasized that the central government should treat all states equally, especially the backward ones. "When we cooperate a lot, we get nothing in return. We must fight for our rights," he added.
