Let's work together: China extends an invitation to India.

Beijing: Until recently, China had been trying to occupy Indian territory, but now it has changed its tone. With the possibility of facing trouble due to the rising tensions with Trump, China has extended a hand of friendship towards India. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi invited India to cooperate and work together, stating that both countries should develop as allies and share a common goal. He emphasized that cooperation is better than confrontation. He mentioned that the cooperation between the two key countries in Asia is extremely important and compared it to a coordinated dance.

There is No Problem that Cannot Be Solved Through Dialogue

Wang Yi also pointed out that better relations between Delhi and Beijing would benefit Global South countries around the world. Strengthening democracy in international relations would empower the position of Global South countries on international platforms. He mentioned that both countries would resolve their disputes through diplomatic means and that cooperation is necessary to protect mutual interests. Wang Yi said, "There is no issue that cannot be resolved through dialogue. At the same time, there are no unreachable goals with cooperation." This statement was made during a meeting with Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar at the G20 Foreign Ministers' meeting in South Africa.

Both Countries’ Forces Withdraw to Previous Positions

In the following weeks, these announcements were made. After the Galwan clash in 2020, relations between the two countries reached a very low point. Since then, several rounds of discussions have taken place between diplomats and military officials from both countries. In 2024, during the BRICS summit in Kazan, Prime Minister Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met. After that, both countries' forces withdrew from areas of tension along the border and returned to their previous positions. On the other hand, this year, China is hosting the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit, and Prime Minister Modi’s participation in this summit is expected to be extremely significant.
